Our courses

We offer the traditional courses of this alpine area.

Pizzoccheri are the master course of the traditional meals in Valtellina: they are a kind of buckwheat noodles with chards, potatoes and mountain pasture cheese flavored with melted butter and sage.

We also offer other traditional courses of Valtellina such as Malfatti: spinach and bread dumplings dressed with meat sauce, butter and Parmesan cheese. And other specialities such as typical snacks made with mixed local cheeses and cold meats, including of course Bresaola: the most characteristic beef meat, pride of the entire Valtellina, that was born in Valdidentro. Then deer, rabbit, polenta, mushrooms and cheeses; all accompanied by Valtellina’s wines such as Sassella or Grumello, for a great tasting.

The rooms

The Ristoro Monte Scale offers the chance to overnight in comfortable rooms provided with bunk beds and private bathroom.

For a unique experience in the adiacent ‘Baitina’ are available cozy rooms with single and bunk beds.

Telephone and television are at disposal for the guests in the bar area.

For your mountain bikes, there is the chance to shelter them

How to get here

By car

A few kilometres from Bormio, Livigno and from the Stelvio mountain pass (district of Sondrio) in the village of Fiordalpe (Valdidentro) starts a road, with some hairpin bends that brings to the Cancano’s lakes in the Valley of Fraele at 2000 mt. After having run along the lake of Scale there is the Ristoro, in front of a large yard, from where you can admire the impressive dam.

On foot or by bike

In summer you can reach the Ristoro Monte Scale on foot or by mountain bike from the valleys of: Forcola, Mora (via Santa Maria Mustair in Swiss), Gallo (Buffalora- Pass del Forn in Swiss), Alpisella, Pila, Trela and Vezzola or, if you prefere, from the road near the Bagni Vecchi or through the gravel road named Decauville.
